VicTesters Establishes Web Presence

Ethical Testing and Tagging a Must

17th March 2005 -- The Technical Manager of VicTesters, Mr. Murray Farrell, today announced that VicTesters has established a World Wide Web presence. Numerous customers and industry contacts have requested easy access to information about electrical safety and portable appliance testing and tagging.

Murray cited horror stories of organizations testing and tagging hundreds of items and how 'Tag Teams Team up for Cream' where pairs of taggers, handwriting tags and records are scamming customers when they claim to test and tag in excess of 70 tags per hour at $8:00 per tag. These returns are phenomenal; but the question must be "What is the quality of the work and where is the value for money?"

Portable appliance testing should be about minimising risk and maximising safety in our client's workplace by diligent work practices. The requirements for portable appliance testing and tagging are outlined in AS/NZ Standard 3760:2003. It is important to ascertain that your test and tag company can show you a copy of that standard and demonstrate how they and their equipment are compliant.  The VicTesters Test and Tag FAQ outlines some of the issues and reasons for test and tag. Feel free to clarify any issues that you may have about Portable Appliance Testing by contacting Murray or any of our friendly staff.
